Our adventures with Pashmina Trails took us across the beautiful, rugged scape of Ladakh - high mountain passes, stunning glacial lakes and pristine gurgling rivers. We got to experience first-hand the lifestyle of the fabled nomadic tribes, who are the herders of the Changthangi goats - the source of the luxurious pashmina wool. The visit to the Changpa nomads was eye-opening—only the elders remain, as most children now go to school and abandon this ancient lifestyle. Once 70 families, now just 17 practice these traditions.
